Infinite Monkey Theorem

Hit keys on a typewriter keyboard at random for an infinite amount of time and you will almost surely type a previously written text.

The probability of a monkey typing a complete work by Shakespeare during a duration of the age of the universe is very small, but it is still possible.

Now the trick is, how does a writer or composer create something truly new without having to plunk out random gibberish for an infinite amount of time?

Perhaps a thinking cap would help. …or costume.

Okay, maybe not.

There’s a wiki page on the theorem.
